Using an IRC Bouncer (BNC) from pulsegaming.com
1. Open Mirc
2. Click on the "options" button at the top left of the mirc window as shown below

3. Make sure you are in the connect category of the options on the left hand side by clicking on "connect" once
4. Click on the "add" button as shown below

5. Now in the top field enter pulseBNC (or something different if you prefer).
6. Below that next to "IRC Server" enter the bouncer address given in your welcome email.
7. Below that next to "Port(s)" enter the port number given in your welcome email.
8. Below that next to "Group" enter pulseBNC.
9. In the lowest field you will need to enter your password, this will again have been provided in your welcome email
10. Click the "add" button

You should now be back at the mirc options screen

11. Next to "Full Name", enter your name.
12. Next to "Email Address" enter your email address (please note this must be the same as the one you submitted to us on ordering, as the first portion will be used as your ident)
13. Next to "Nickname" enter your desired chat nickname
14. Next to "Alternative" enter your desired nickname if your first choice is in use by someone else.
15. Now click "connect" to connect to the BNC Server
The first time you connect to the server you will be greated as follows:-

Now you are connected to the BNC for the first time, there are a few settings to change, to do this type the following in the status window called "psyBNC"
16. /bvhost (this allows you to choose the vhost that appears when someone does a whois on you. You can choose any of the following:
play.hard.go-pro.co.uk
it.is.time.to.go-pro.co.uk
powered.by.pulsegaming.com
dont.whois.me.it.points2.com
We will be adding more vhosts shortly.
17. /addserver irc.quakenet.eu.org:6667
This will connect you to the quakenet irc network, you can use this command to connect to other irc networks as well.
18. /jump this will establish your connection to the irc network.
You can use /bhelp for a list of commands and how to change your away nick name and away message to broadcast.
Remember when leaving irc, just quit mirc rather than closing the channels, you will automatically rejoin the channels when you connect to the BNC server again.
If people have left messages for you while you have been offline, the psyBNC window will flash upon joining the server and prompt you on how to retrieve your messages and also erase the log. |
